1. People who must not trade a market
You must not trade a market — or ask anyone to trade it for you — if you are, or act for:
- an athlete, player, driver or team member taking part in the event, or in the competition it belongs to;
- a coach, manager, owner, agent, medical or support staff member of a team or participant in the event;
- a referee, umpire, steward, judge or other official of the event or competition;
- an employee of a league, governing body or event organiser with access to non-public information about it;
- anyone else who can influence the outcome, or who has non-public information about it;
- a member of staff or contractor of Tufdog or of our platform provider (staff accounts cannot trade).
2. Inside information
Inside information is information that is not public and that a reasonable trader would use — for example an unannounced injury or line-up, a decision to rest players, or knowledge that a result has been arranged. You must not trade on it, pass it to others so they can trade, or recommend trades based on it.
3. Manipulation and abusive trading
You must not:
- try to fix, influence or arrange the outcome of an event;
- place orders you do not intend to fill, to mislead others about demand ("spoofing" or "layering");
- trade with yourself, or arrange trades with others that change no one's real position ("wash trading");
- coordinate with others to move a price, or spread false information to move it;
- use several accounts, or someone else's account;
- exploit a technical fault, a pricing error or delayed data — tell us about it instead;
- use bots or automated tools to trade.
4. How we protect the markets
- Limits on order size, positions per contract and how often orders can be sent.
- Self-trade prevention: your own orders do not match each other.
- A short delay on members' orders during live games, refused if the score changes.
- Automatic pauses when a live data feed is late, and trading halts on events we have concerns about.
- Surveillance of trading patterns — for example accounts that build large positions relative to the limits. Oversight: surveillance alerts are reviewed by people acting for Tufdog (including our platform provider's staff acting on our behalf). Where we suspect insider trading, match-fixing or manipulation, we may share information with the league, governing body or sports-integrity organisation concerned and report it to the police or other competent authorities.
5. What happens if the rules are broken
We may cancel orders, void trades, keep any profit from prohibited trading, freeze balances, close accounts, share information with leagues, governing bodies and integrity organisations, and report to the police or regulators.
6. Reporting a concern
If you suspect insider trading, match-fixing or manipulation, email support@tufdog.com. We treat reports in confidence.
